Sif, The Lonely Wife

Sif, The In-Law, is a beautiful Golden haired goddess who in Eddic tradition is the wife of Thor, mother of Thrudr by Thor. And Ullr A Powerful Vanir Hunter God who is Fathered by a previous unknown consort.

Sif and Thor have an interesting marriage being simultaneously devoted to each other, though each have had multiple affairs. Which is the underlying reason Loki cut off her hair revealing her and by extension Thor's shame. Thor in retaliation to this act and to cover his shame then forced Loki to replace her hair with magical golden hair crafted by Dwarfs.

As Thor exemplifies the masculine, Sif compliments him by emphasizing the feminine tending the home, caring for the children both hers and not hers while being MOSTLY devoted to Thor.

Her story exemplifies the ordeals of the many women who remained at home while the men were away for long periods of time throughout history. Yet we must not forget Sif also has her own talents as she is a seer and one of the most sought after goddesses by the Giants alongside Freya and Idunn.
